Texas judgment payoff calculator

The amount that pays a Texas judgment in full on the date you choose: the balance, the interest earned to that date, and recoverable costs of collecting.

The judgment
Amounts awarded

In dollars and cents, as the judgment states them. Leave a line blank if the judgment awards none.

Interest rate

Only for a fixed contract rate, for example 10 or 9.5.

Payments, credits and costs since the judgment

One line each. Entries on the same date count in the order listed. Amounts in dollars; a release has no amount. For a cost, choose what kind of cost it was. Up to 40 lines; submitting adds more blank lines.

Date

The date the payoff is figured to.

A payoff is good for one date

Interest keeps running until the judgment is paid, so a payoff figure is right for one date only. Calculate it for the day the money will actually arrive, and again if that day moves or another payment comes in first. Costs you mark as not recoverable are listed but left out of the payoff.

Before you rely on a figure

The calculator uses the same engine as JudgmentVault itself, with the Texas rules set out on the methodology page, some of which are still pending legal review. When a judgment falls outside what those rules cover, such as a judgment rendered in a month whose rate is not yet published, it says so and shows no figure rather than guess. Nothing you enter is stored.
