How the value is worked out

A judgment starts with the amounts it awards. Post-judgment interest runs from the day it is signed at the rate fixed by statute or by the contract sued on, and is added the way Texas's statute says. Each payment or credit is applied in the order the methodology page sets out. The itemized history under the result shows every step, so you can check it against your own records.

Before you rely on a figure

The calculator uses the same engine as JudgmentVault itself, with the Texas rules set out on the methodology page, some of which are still pending legal review. When a judgment falls outside what those rules cover, such as a judgment rendered in a month whose rate is not yet published, it says so and shows no figure rather than guess. Nothing you enter is stored.
